Hello

Or should that be G'Day? I've been in Sydney a few years now, having relocated from the UK.

I'm freelancing at the moment and am always on the lookout for new opportunities either in design or front-end dev. If you think we'd get on I'd love to hear from you.

My skills

I have always had a passion for visual design. My skills in this area include:

  • Excellent visual design skills and experience of Art Direction
  • Good Experience of branding and UI design for web and mobile
  • Great Adobe skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Excellent animation skills using Adobe Animate, AfterEffects and GreenSock

A geek at heart, I like to stay at the cutting edge - my technical skills include:

  • Front-end coding with HTML5, CSS, PHP, JavaScript
  • Experience with 3rd Party Ad serving platforms such as DoubleClick & Sizmek
  • A good working knowledge of UX principles
  • Analytical background with a natural aptitude for problem solving

Work & education

I have over 8 years experience as a professional designer. I cut my teeth in London spending 4 years as a Digital Designer at DLKWLowe (now MullenLowe). Since moving to Australia in 2013 I've freelanced with many of the best agencies in Sydney - working on website design, HTML5 animation and front-end dev. Check out my LinkedIn for more details.

I am a motivated learner, committed to CPD - my web design skills are largely self-taught, although I have completed various short courses including Graphic Design at Central St Martin's College of Art & Design, London.

My degree education and earlier career history is more deeply technical - I hold an 2.1 MEng (hons) in Aeronautical Engineering from University of Bristol (UK) and worked for over 3 and a half years as a Systems Engineer with technology company QinetiQ before seeking a more creative career. I still value my technical background which gives me an analytical edge which not all designers possess.
